Open Source BI

As you may have noted from my background and/or posts, I've focused on the BI space for some time, mostly leveraging commercial BI platforms to provide data warehouse reporting and analytics on technology infrastructure assets (allocation, configuration, consumption, capacity, etc.).  Recently I started playing with the Pentaho BI suite (v.3.6) on Ubuntu 10.04.

I recently picked up a couple of interesting books related to my BI focus.  Stephen Few's book on dashboard design is excellent for anyone who really wants to focus on UI design for BI dashboards.  Even though it is a bit dated, I still found it to be an excellent resource and highly relevant.  I'm about 1/2 way through Pentaho Solutions and will post my thoughts on it once I'm done.
